The Traverse offers a vast array of trims and optional equipment that includes strong tech and safety features. Trim levels include LS, LT, RS, Premier and High Country. Standard features on all Traverses include 3-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, LED bi-optic headlights, active aero shutters that direct air through the front grille of the vehicle, an array of USB ports and in-vehicle Wi-Fi.
GM's venerable 3.6L V6 comes on all Traverse trims, making 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. It's mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, intended to maximize fuel economy.
The LS also includes a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 stereo that offers Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 7 USB ports and in-vehicle Wi-Fi. Standard equipment also includes keyless entry, 3-zone climate control, 18-inch aluminum wheels and heated, power-adjustable headlamps.
Stepping up to the LT means the addition of fog lamps, cargo roof rails, SiriusXM satellite radio, second-row captain's chairs and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Leather seat trim is available as an upgrade to the LT trim.
RS-trimmed Traverses come with unique black wheels and accents as well as heated front seats, integrated navigation, a power liftgate and 20" wheels. Safety features at this level include blind-zone monitoring and Rear Park Assist.
The Premier upgrades the Traverse with a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, a hands-free power liftgate and heated/auto-dimming mirrors.
At the top of the lineup, the High Country offers luxurious styling and enhanced tech features, including unique interior trim, power-folding third-row seats, adaptive cruise control, an enhanced twin-clutch all-wheel drive system and heavy-duty trailering equipment. Forward collision and pedestrian braking as well as lane-keep assist with departure warning systems complete the high-tech safety lineup.
All Traverse models include frontal and side-impact for driver and front passenger, side-impact and head curtain airbags. Available Teen Driver mode works to improve safety while younger drivers are behind the wheel. The system can mute the audio until front seat occupants are buckled as well as limiting the top volume, display a speed warning at preset limits and automatically turn on available active safety technologies. An available 'report card' can display information about the teens' driving habits such as maximum speed, distance travelled and whether the antilock brakes or emergency braking systems were engaged.
